In July 2011, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will adopt a renewed vision – in the form of a document report – that will provide direction to the National Wildlife Refuge System on wildlife conservation actions into the next decade and beyond.

Input for how to shape that vision is being generated by employees of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, conservation and partner organizations, “Friends” organizations, and other members of the public.  Five Core Teams comprised of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employees from all programs and areas of the country were created to help guide development of the vision document from an agency perspective.  The Core Teams are:

  1. Conservation Planning & Design
  2. Conservation Delivery
  3. Conservation Science
  4. Relevance to Changing America
  5. Leadership & Organizational Excellence

Each Core Team has a group set up for them.  Please join the groups you are interested in and take a moment to review and comment on the draft documents the Core Teams have drafted. The next step for the Core Teams is to review your input and produce a more detailed concept paper. Your feedback will be an important resource to the Core Teams as they continue to refine the draft vision documents.
