Berk and Elleen, I agree that the three visit per year is unrealistic for many schools. I live in NE Washington State and the schools have very little money. Right now our program is only one visit for every 2nd and 5th grader (In the Colville School Dist) and that takes up four days for the volunteers. Our staff is so small they can only…[Read more]

Community Partnerships (Recommendations 11 and 12) 7 months, 1 week agoObjective 1.7, Strategy 1.7c. Are you recognizing the staff as a whole or individuals. We do not have a volunteer coordinator, but individual staff members help with different Friends projects depending on interest and expertise. Communications (Recommendations 14, 15) 8 months agoI have four specific thoughts. One pg. 9 Message Rollout. Under spokesman training consider the possibility of some Friend in spokesperson training. Friends are spokespeople for the refuge and many friends have a lot of experience in this already.

Community Partnerships (Recommendations 11 and 12) 1 year agoSo far I like the outline. But I am waiting for the details in the full version. It will be important that everything is clear and concise so as not to lead to confusion and frustration. So far so good.

Thanks for looking at the Handbook Outline. I agree with you about being clear and concise. I think the easier the document is to navigate, the more it will be used.
